Awake

When I slept, I dreamt I was awake

I was swimming in the viscous lava of solitude

Floating past dismembered hundred year old trees

Trees that once swayed but now stand still listening for the unknown

Aaaagh … I longed for unseen spaces

and to be the person I have not been

To go to faraway places, where dreams that are long forgotten go to dance

Where melodies that echoed off the walls of life’s mountains sleep
